Policies & Practice Information

Licensure & Location of Services

Services are provided by a therapist licensed in the State of Missouri. Clients must be physically located in Missouri at the time of each session. Information on this website is provided for general educational purposes and does not constitute psychotherapy unless a formal therapist–client relationship has been established.

Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)

Clients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of therapy services. A clear estimate is provided before services begin, and questions about fees are welcomed to help ensure transparency and avoid financial surprises.

Insurance

Follis Wellness is an out-of-network practice. Insurance is not billed directly; however, superbills are available for potential reimbursement.

This structure supports greater privacy and flexibility in treatment, with care guided by clinical needs rather than insurance requirements.

Telehealth

Telehealth sessions are available to individuals located in Missouri at the time of each appointment and are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. A private space and reliable internet connection are required.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Privacy is taken seriously. Sessions and communications are confidential and protected under HIPAA and Missouri law. Information is released only with written authorization, except in limited situations required to protect safety or comply with legal obligations. These limits are reviewed during the intake process.

Communication

Email and voicemail are used for scheduling and brief administrative matters. Responses are typically provided within 1–2 business days.

Email is not a secure form of communication for clinical content, and messages may not be read immediately. Electronic communication should not be used for urgent or emergency concerns.

Crisis & Emergency Support

Follis Wellness is not an emergency service and does not provide on-call or after-hours crisis support. If you are in crisis or experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or others, please contact one of the following immediately:

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

  • 911 Emergency Services

  • Your nearest emergency department

Cancellations & Missed Sessions

Session times are reserved exclusively for each client. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed appointments are charged the full session fee. Advance notice is appreciated whenever possible.

Fees & Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. Major credit cards and HSA/FSA cards are accepted. Fees are discussed in advance, and a Good Faith Estimate is provided at the start of services or upon request.

Professional Boundaries

Clear professional boundaries are maintained to support a safe and effective therapeutic relationship. Dual relationships are not entered into, and forensic or court-ordered evaluations are not provided.

Treatment Expectations & Outcomes

Therapy is a collaborative process focused on setting goals, selecting evidence-based approaches, and regularly reviewing what is helpful. Client feedback plays an important role in shaping the work.

Each person’s healing journey is unique. While evidence-based therapies are effective for many people, no specific outcomes can be guaranteed. Care is provided in a culturally responsive, evidence-based manner, with progress tracked in a way that is transparent, supportive, and respectful.
